Background
Jerome Bitun has been an insurance advisor since 1998 and is a Certified Professional Consultant on Aging (CPCA) based in Vancouver, BC. He graduated with a B.S. degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering at the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines.
Always interested in the area of finance and investing, he decided to shift gears after moving to Canada and started his career in the financial services industry.
An engineering background trained him to pay attention to detail and have a conservative behavior in complex situations. His experience with various professors as an Engineering student showed him the importance of simplifying concepts so that it will help people understand complex financial terms and situations. That’s why it’s important for him to take the time to explain things to his clients.
Passion
Jerome is passionate about helping clients and listening to their concerns. He makes sure to take time to answer their questions and explain strategies before suggesting solutions. He believes that every client is unique and that a client’s life stage changes their financial situation.
Practice
Getting to know each client is the cornerstone of his practice. He does this by making sure that he takes the time to listen to his clients and to answer all their questions and concerns. Therefore, client recommendations are made only after a client’s specific needs, goals and comfort level have been determined.
Jerome works mostly through client introductions because of the time it takes to work with each client. The initial meeting always starts with a interview to determine a good fit. This ensures that the client is comfortable working with him. As a result, most of this clients have been with him for more than 7 years and in some cases, he is now working with the adult children of his clients.
His financial services practice focus on families, small business owners and professionals.
Personal
Jerome is happily married to Irene and they are proud parents to two wonderful kids. Away from business, he enjoys time reading, spending time with the family, swimming and photography. An avid student of history, business and economics, Jerome has knowledge on the financial markets around the world.
